Shirley Jones at Age 8. Having fun in Jacobs Creek,
When Shirley was age nine, she and her best friend, Charlotte (“Red”), pulled the fire alarm at the Smithton Volunteer Fire Department to see what would happen. About 10 years after the fact, here is Shirley and Red re-creating their “adventure” for a magazine photo.

HIGH SCHOOL DAYS
In her High School years, Shirley was a Majorette. She is the one to the far left. All the signatures are from friends and said something like: “To a Swell Girl,” “To a Pretty Blonde,” “A Great Head Majorette!” and, of course, “To a Girl with a Terrific singing voice!
(Right) A copy of her report card in 1952. Her strength, obviously, was in English and Music!
Shirley’s graduation photo at age 18. Note the inscription, “With All My Love, Shirley” Shirley’s program for her graduation from South Huntington High School.
